Eastern Illinois' Johnson a Tropical Bowl standout

(STATS) - Eastern Illinois running back Isaiah Johnson was named the National Team's MVP in their 24-16 loss to the American squad at the SPIRAL Tropical Bowl Sunday in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Johnson rushed for a 30-yard touchdown and finished with 67 yards on four carries.

Among other FCS-level players, Texas Southern's Brad Woodard collected a game-high 125 all-purpose yards on four touches for the Nationals - a 76-yard punt return, a 25-yard kickoff return and 24 yards on two carries.
