|The Chicago Blackhawks signed Kempny to a one-year contract extension through the 2017-18 season.
Analysis: Kempny, 26, would have become a restricted free agent on July 1. Kempny recorded two goals, six assists and 22 penalty minutes in 50 games with the Blackhawks this season, his first in the NHL. He also made his Stanley Cup playoff debut in Game 4 of the 2017 first round against the Nashville Predators, registering two hits.

|Anderson made 39 saves but it wasn't enough as the Senators fell 3-2 in double overtime in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals in Pittsburgh.
Analysis: Anderson was the reason the Senators got as far as they did. He posted a .938 save percentage over his final eight playoff starts.

|Murray made 27 saves to help give the defending Stanley Cup champions a 3-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference final Thursday night.
Analysis: Murray posted a .946 save percentage in his five games since relieving Marc-Andre Fleury. It looks like coach Mike Sullivan made the right call.

Analysis: Kunitz had two goals and assisted on Justin Schultz's tally. He ended a 25-game playoff goal drought in the second period.

|Lindholm needs shoulder surgery and will be out for four to five months, the Ducks announced Thursday.
Analysis: Lindholm appeared in 66 regular-season games and had 20 points before registering a goal and three assists while playing in all 17 playoff contests.

Analysis: It was the 153rd career playoff point in 142 games for Malkin - three back of Sidney Crosby for second among active players behind Jaromir Jagr - who had been jarring with Hoffman a few minutes earlier.

|Hoffman scored the tiebreaking goal early in the third period and the Senators beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1 Tuesday night to force a decisive Game 7 in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Analysis: Hoffman fired a slap shot through traffic off a pass from Fredrik Claesson to put the Senators ahead at 1:34 of the third.
